Racecadotril has a rapid onset of action. It reduces the secretion of water and electrolytes into the intestine. Racecadotril significantly reduces the duration and volume of acute watery diarrhea. Lactobacillus is a gram-positive, lactic acid producing bacteria; it restores the normal balance of intestinal flora. It is used in the treatment of uncomplicated diarrhea in children.
